A website for a local authority’s exciting new lifestyle campaign

A new website promoting good health in London

Barking and Dagenham Council asked me&you creative company to design and develop a new website for an exciting new lifestyle campaign

me&you designed the colourful new website for the 'New Me' London health campaign.

The campaign is designed to be accessible to all residents within the borough and provides support and guidance on health to people of different ages, genders, backgrounds and fitness levels. We simplified the information into three distinct sections: Move More, Eat Healthy and Stop Smoking. This makes the site navigation simple and attractive for the user.

The me&you website designers also used a bold colour palette to define each sections of the website, assigning the same colour to the same type of information to make it easier to navigate throughout the site.

Fun and attractive images were chosen by the me&you digital designers to set a light and informal tone for the 'New Me' website. We particularly enjoyed creating the content aimed at children.

It was important for our design agency to provide good value for money to this London council in the production of this website.

Site map and development

Planning a site map in the initial stages of development is imperative, especially when dealing with a website that’s high in content. It's all about making sure the experience for the user is as pain-free as possible. This needs you to predict which areas of information will be of the most interest to the users and making sure these areas are easy to navigate to.

Website

The NewMe campaign is an ongoing project, so it was vital that the client would be able to easily manage the content themselves.

A campaign for younger people

To appeal to the youngest users of the site, we created a character named ‘Healthy Hana’. We produced six different graphics which are used through the site to illustrate a healthy diet.
