Brand deployment support for Muscular Dystrophy UK

me&you supported Muscular Dystrophy UK by applying their refreshed brand to a range of digital and print assets.

Challenge

When Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) approached me&you, they were nearing the end of a collaborative brand strategy development process and brand refresh. During this process they’d worked with brand strategist Dan Dufour to formulate a new corporate strategy, and Claire Wilson at Whirligig Creative who refreshed their visual brand.

With an approved set of new brand guidelines in place, the challenge was to apply the new brand look and feel to some of the charity’s various digital and print assets to get them ready for a big brand launch. However, with limited inhouse capacity and the launch date looming, MDUK needed some support in bringing their old brand assets into line with the new branding. This included updating email template blocks, their Drupal website, Canva templates and a multitude of other print and digital items.

Solution

me&you provided MDUK with brand deployment support in a number of ways.

We co-ordinated third-party website and email developers to ensure that the new brand was successfully applied to MDUK’s website and email templates. We worked with a Drupal website specialist to reskin MDUK’s main website, and assisted in reskinning their Shopify store and Wordpress-powered online forum. We also worked with HTML specialists to create a set of interchangeable content blocks for MDUK to use on their outbound marketing emails built in Dot Digital.

MDUK were able to hand over all the technical aspects of updating these assets to me&you. We became their single point of contact, freeing up their inhouse team for other important tasks.

We also designed and built a set of editable Canva templates, pictograms, and updated the design of some of the existing adverts, posters and forms so that they reflected their new brand guidelines.

Impact

Muscular Dystrophy UK met its launch deadline and the new brand identity went live on the 13th July 2023.

The new branding is stronger, bolder and more recognisable. It is also clearer and more accessible in its messaging which means the charity will be able to reach, help and support more people.

In order to minimise their environmental impact and roll out the refreshed brand in the most cost effective and efficient way possible MDUK have chosen to use up current stock of some printed items before updating them with the new branding.

me&you continue to support MDUK in deploying their brand refresh across their full suite of assets.
