Charity website design and build connects local Surrey communities

me&you worked closely with the Surrey Community Action team to create a streamlined website for local businesses, organisations and the local Surrey Community.

Challenge

Surrey Community Action is a countywide independent charity which supports voluntary and not-for-profit groups with advice and services to help them operate more effectively. 

The challenge for the new website was to create a window into their organisation with four key objectives:

  1. To build awareness of the support Surrey Community Action provides
  2. Increase engagement with users through job directories, find a Community Hall location search and find a Good Neighbour schemes
  3. Ensure the Surrey Community can find support for local services
  4. Increase online enquiries for training and events

 

Solution

The brand was given a complimentary colour palette and bespoke icons to clearly define support sector services for the charity. The sector services range from business services, to local meeting room hires, to local Good Neighbour Schemes. The user experience was improved on the site to increase engagement and clear functionality. A resource hub was added, filtered by support and business service categories.

Impact

Local people in the Surrey Community can easily access training services and look up a local Community Hall or Find a Good Neighbour Scheme via the location finders. Integrated web submission forms and customer login accounts have helped Surrey businesses and organisations to easily add, submit and manage their own information on the website for local Find a Good Neighbour Schemes, local Surrey jobs and local Community Halls. The team at Surrey Community Action just need to check over details and click approve. This automated process has reduced the manual workload for the internal SCA team, allowing them to work on other projects
