Creating a bold brand identity for a vibrant community workspace

me&you helped turn a bland office space into a welcoming community coworking hub for local professionals to meet, work and collaborate.

Challenge

The way we work has changed dramatically. With more people working remotely or adopting hybrid working since the pandemic, demand for flexible workspaces has grown. But working from home can be isolating, and freelancers, entrepreneurs and growing businesses still need somewhere professional to work, meet clients and connect with others.

Bel4 was designed to offer something more than desks and offices: a welcoming, flexible workspace that would become a vibrant part of Redhill’s business community. Inspired by the warmth and personal service of independent hospitality, its ambition was to help local businesses connect, collaborate and thrive.

The challenge for me&you was to bring this vision to life through a distinctive brand identity, clear messaging and an engaging tone of voice. The brand needed to feel welcoming, energetic and independent, while remaining professional and credible, striking the balance between looking polished without feeling corporate, and individual without appearing amateur.

Solution

We started by building the identity around Bel4’s four core services: Coworking, Private Offices, Virtual Offices and Meeting Rooms. By creating bespoke shapes and icons for each, we gave the brand a distinctive visual language that adapts seamlessly across different applications.

The colour palette, built with accessibility in mind, moves away from the conventional corporate blues or reds, combining deep forest green and rich purple with warm white and blush pink. Bright accent colours bring energy and personality and bold, uppercase sans-serif headlines are balanced with a friendly, approachable body font.

Alongside the visual identity, we developed key brand messaging and tone-of-voice guidance to communicate Bel4’s ambition to be more than a place to work, a space where people feel welcome, build relationships and become part of a real community.

The flexible identity, built around the bespoke service shapes and Bel4 ‘B’, was rolled out across everything from signage and flyers to animated screens and coffee mugs, creating a consistent experience throughout the space.

We also designed a bespoke WordPress website that gives the Bel4 team the flexibility to promote events, publish blog articles and update available private office space in real time. To help them maintain a consistent social presence, we created a set of templates in Adobe Express, making it easier to produce on-brand content in-house at pace.

Impact

Bel4’s vision is beginning to take shape, with strong demand for its workspace and a growing reputation among local professionals and organisations.

  • Private offices at capacity: All vacant private office units have been filled, with plans to convert a breakout area into additional offices to meet demand
  • Growing interest in coworking: Bel4’s monthly Try It Tuesday gives people the chance to experience the facilities for free and discover the benefits of working alongside other local professionals
  • A growing business community: Organisations including Redhill Business Guild, Source in Surrey and Reigate and Banstead Council have held events and talks at Bel4, helping establish it as a place for local businesses and professionals to come together

With a distinctive brand, flexible digital presence and a clear sense of purpose, Bel4 is building more than a workspace. It’s creating a welcoming home for local ambition, somewhere people can do their best work, build meaningful relationships and feel part of something bigger.
